MediaSlim is a macOS image compression and format conversion app. All image processing happens on your device. Here is exactly what it accesses and transmits.

Images never leave your Mac. The app sends feature-usage statistics and crash reports via Firebase. With your permission, this website uses Google Analytics.

Network requests

MediaSlim makes the following network requests. None of them involve your images.

Only after you choose Allow analytics on this website. You can change your choice from Analytics settings in the footer.

A randomly generated browser identifier, device and browser information, pages viewed, download clicks, and campaign parameters such as UTM source, medium, and campaign. No image data or filenames are collected.

Check for updates
Sparkle

At launch or when you choose Check for Updates. Automatic checks can be disabled in Preferences.

Downloads a small appcast XML from mediaslim-updates.jojotech.io. The request includes your IP address and basic system information (macOS version, app version). Nothing else is sent.

Feature-usage statistics
Firebase Analytics (Google)

While the app is running.

A randomly generated identifier, app version, macOS version, device model, language, and aggregated usage events (e.g. which features are used, number of files processed, compression mode). No image data, filenames, file paths, or personal content is included.

Crash reporting
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)

After a crash, on next launch.

Crash stack trace, a Crashlytics installation identifier, device state at the time of crash (memory, disk), and app version. No image data or filenames are included.

Image data stays local

Images are processed entirely on your Mac. No image data, metadata, filenames, or thumbnails ever leave your device.

There is no account system and no sign-in.

Analytics and crash reporting

MediaSlim uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand which features are used and to fix crashes. Both services are provided by Google.

This data is used solely to understand feature usage and fix crashes, helping us improve the experience.

The MediaSlim website uses Google Analytics only after you choose Allow analytics. It measures visits to the landing and comparison pages, download clicks, and campaign attribution. Advertising storage and personalization remain disabled. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time through Analytics settings in the website footer.

Original files

Compressed output is written to a separate location. The app never modifies, overwrites, or deletes your originals.
