MediaSlim is a macOS image and video compression app with image format conversion. All media processing happens on your Mac. This policy explains how the app handles your data.

MediaSlim processes media on your Mac. The app collects usage events and crash diagnostics through Firebase by default. This website uses Google Analytics only after you allow it.

Network requests

MediaSlim makes the following network requests. The app does not attach your images or videos to these requests.

A randomly generated browser identifier, device and browser information, pages viewed, download clicks, and campaign parameters such as UTM source, medium, and campaign. No media data or filenames are collected.

Direct-download updates
Sparkle

Direct-download version only: checks automatically while running or when you choose Check for Updates from the menu. The App Store version does not use Sparkle; Apple provides its updates.

Requests update information from mediaslim-updates.jojotech.io. The update server can see the request's IP address and ordinary HTTP request information; MediaSlim does not attach media files.

Your media stays local

Images and videos are processed on your Mac. MediaSlim does not upload media files for compression or conversion. If you connect a separate AI client through the MCP integration, that client's handling of files is governed by its own settings and privacy policy.

There is no account system and no sign-in.

Analytics and crash reporting

MediaSlim uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand feature use and fix crashes. These Google services collect device and app information, usage data, and crash logs. App telemetry starts in the release build by default; there is no in-app analytics switch.

We use this data to measure feature usage, diagnose failures, and improve the app. We do not use it for advertising or sell it. Google processes it as our Firebase service provider under its applicable data-protection terms.

Firebase Analytics retains user- and event-level data according to the retention setting of our Google Analytics property; aggregated reports may remain available longer. Firebase Crashlytics begins removing crash traces and associated identifiers after 90 days. To request deletion of data associated with your installation or ask about the current Analytics retention setting, contact us using the address below. You can stop future app telemetry by uninstalling MediaSlim; uninstalling does not automatically delete previously collected data.

The MediaSlim website uses Google Analytics only after you choose Allow analytics. It measures visits to the landing and comparison pages, download clicks, and campaign attribution. Advertising storage and personalization remain disabled. You can withdraw or change your choice at any time through Analytics settings in the website footer.

Original files

By default, compressed output is saved separately. If you explicitly choose Replace Originals for compression, the app replaces the original files; this cannot be undone.
